Takaud, the specialist savings and pensions provider based in Bahrain, has hired Luc Métivier as its new chief executive.
Eric Van Biesen, who has been the acting chief executive following the departure of Abdallah Kubursi, who left Takaud at the end of 2013, will resume his original role as chief financial officer.
Métivier has worked in insurance and reinsurance at a number of firms in the MENA region. He is a former group chief executive of ACR Re Takaful, a subsidiary of Asia’s leading reinsurance entity Asia Capital reinsurance. He is a former chief executive at AXA Insurance in Egypt, Methaq Takaful in Dubai and Allianz Saudi Fransi, and a former general manager at Allianz Life Egypt and Allianz Life Luxembourg.
Métivier says Takaud is poised for “steady momentum” as a provider of private savings, pensions and financial planning for individuals.
