ADIA opens first office in Hong Kong

Office buildings1The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) has opened its first office in Hong Kong as it seeks to improve its research and analysis of Asia.

The sovereign wealth fund, which is thought to one of the world’s largest, has appointed Dong-Sinh Ngo as chief representative for the Asia-Pacific region, based in the new office.

Ngo will support ADIA’s staff based in Abu Dhabi with investment research on markets and economic trends in the Asian region.

“Our decision to open an office in Hong Kong is a symbol of our confidence in Asia’s continued growth and our long-term commitment to the region,” said Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ADIA’s managing director.

A Swiss national, Ngo joins ADIA from Credit Agricole in Hong Kong, where he was head of products and investment solutions. He has also worked for BNP Paribas.
