The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) has appointed Henri Bergstrom as a market development adviser.
A former employee of the Finnish Clearing and Central Securities Depository, Bergstrom was mostly recently chairman of the NASDAQ OMX Armenia Exchange.
“I am confident that the experience and efficiency he has will become an added value to ADX, which witnessed constant improvements during the past few years in its legislative and structural environments,” said Rashed Al Blooshi, chief executive of the Abu Dhabi exchange.
Al Blooshi said Bergstrom would help to increase the market capitalisation, product range and variety of investors on ADX, which is the second-largest exchange in the UAE after the Dubai Financial Market.
At the end of last year, there were 71 securities listed on ADX with a combined capitalisation equivalent to $129 billion.
