Dubai-based investment firm Arqaam Capital has launched a global macro systematic fund in an attempt to broaden its asset range.
Areski Iberrakene, chief investment officer, will manage the Cayman Islands-domiciled fund. He is the founder of UK-based Areski Capital and formerly managed equity and credit derivatives for Dresdner Kleinwort.
Dennis Wijsmuller, chief operating officer at Arqaam Capita, said the launch was a “key milestone for our alternatives investments business”.
The multi-asset fund aims to generate positive returns in all market conditions by deploying a series of strategies.
“I believe that the Arqaam platform gives us a stronger opportunity to grow assets and awareness of our unique strategy given its multi-asset, liquid and de-correlated profile,” said Iberrakene.
