Deloitte appoints new partner for Oman office

Ahmed Al Qassabi has been promoted by Deloitte to become the new managing partner of its Oman practice. As of June 1, 2019, he will replace the retiring Anis Sadek.

Al Qassabi is currently responsible for managing key clients in audit, financial advisory and consulting in Oman as well as heading up the firm’s corporate governance projects.

He has also played a key role in Deloitte’s ‘Omanization’ initiative which is designed to promote the skills and career prospects of local youths by giving them positions within the firm.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Al Qassabi spent a number of years at Oman’s financial services watchdog, the Capital Markets Authority, where he held the position of director general, issues and disclosures.

Al Qassabi’s appointment was welcomed by Omar Falhoum, chief executive, Deloitte Middle East. “I am pleased that Ahmed brings his deep understanding of his country Oman’s market and clients to lead Deloitte’s practice in the Sultanate as part of the Deloitte Middle East network in the region,” he said.
