Emirates Islamic appoints new chief

Dubai-based bank Emirates Islamic has hired Salah Amin as its new chief executive.

He succeeds Jamal Bin Ghalaita, who will now act as an adviser to Emirates Islamic chairman Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim.

Amin began his career with Emirates NBD in 1989 and has taken on a number of senior executive roles in that time including, most recently, head of corporate banking.

“I am pleased to welcome Salah Amin to his new role and wish him success in building further on Emirates Islamic’s market leading position,” said Al Qassim.

The chairman paid tribute to the previous chief executive, Bin Ghalaita, who was described as “the lynchpin of Emirates Islamic’s remarkable brand transformation to one of the fastest growing and most successful banks in the UAE”.
