Investcorp to launch $1bn PE fund

Private_equityBahrain-based alternative manager Investcorp has teamed up with UK private equity firm Coller Capital to form a $1 billion European private equity portfolio. The investment vehicle will be underwritten by the Coller International Partners VII fund while Investcorp will retain a “meaningful general partner commitment”. The secondary transaction also includes fresh capital for any follow-on investments, future investments and co-investments. Investcorp will manage any acquisitions made through the transaction as well as the new capital. Executive chairman Mohammed Alardhi  described the deal as “the latest step in our global growth strategy” which aims to accrue $50 billion in assets under management in the medium term. ©2019 funds global mena
