Jupiter expands Mena team

Jupiter Asset Management has bolstered its Mena team with a number of appointments in its distribution team.

The changes follow its acquisition of fellow UK asset manager Merian Global Investors in February this year.

Simon Barrett, formerly Merian’s regional head for the Middle East, South Africa and the Nordics, will now be Jupiter’s head of Middle East and Africa.

Part of his new role will be to focus on growing Jupiter’s links to the institutional market in the region.

He will be assisted by Richard Hooper who has been appointed as director for Middle East and Africa, maintaining his responsibility for distribution coverage in wholesale and institutional markets as well as asset raising across daily traded fixed interest, equity and multi-asset investment strategies.

“There is significant opportunity to increase our client base in the Middle East – in both the wholesale and institutional space – and I am greatly looking forward to working with Richard to maintain the excellent progress that has already been made,” said Barrett.
