Singapore firm eyes Mena expansion with media fund

Vistas Media Capital (VMC), a Singapore-based investment firm focused on the media sector, is planning to launch an investment fund as part of its Mena expansion.

The $150 million multi-strategy fund will be based in the Abu Dhabi Global Market.

The company is also planning to establish an events and media production company in Abu Dhabi.

The expansion follows VMC’s merger with Mena-based music streaming platform Anghami via a special purpose acquisition company (Spac) back in March.

According to VMC group’s chief executive, Abhayanand Singh, there was an “overwhelming response” from the wider investor community in the Mena region following the Anghami transaction.

So far VMC’s investments have focused on Singapore and India. “We now wish to expand our global footprint by leveraging this support and demand from Mena to further strengthen our businesses and take Vistas Media Capital, a homegrown Singapore company, global,” said Singh.
