Arcapita launches UK property portfolio

Arcapita UK propertyBahrain-based alternative investment firm Arcapita has launched a $100 million investment fund for UK-based real estate. The UK ARC Industrial Portfolio will focus on industrial buildings across the UK, emphasising energy efficiency upgrades. Arcapita said it hopes investing in the upgrades will add value to already income-generating, multi-let properties. This approach is in alignment with the firm’s strategy of investing in "socially conscious" projects. Arcapita has recruited BCP Capital, a UK-based real estate asset manager, to run the day-to-day operations of the portfolio. Arcapita joins several Mena-based investment firms in launching a UK property fund. Dubai-based Rasmala launched its UK real estate strategy in June 2023 while another Bahrain-based asset manager GFH opened a London office in November 2022. ©2023 funds global mena
