eToro gets approval to launch in UAE

The Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) has granted financial services permission to trading and investment platform eToro.

The approval from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FRSA) will enable eToro to operate as a broker for securities, derivatives and crypto assets in the UAE.

Jason Hughes, senior executive officer for eToro Middle East and George Naddaf, GCC & Mena regional manager, will lead the Abu Dhabi business.

eToro founder and CEO Yoni Assia called the granting of the licence a “milestone” in the firm’s global expansion, especially as Abu Dhabi is gaining recognition as a growing fintech hub.
